Mid-to-senior Backend Developer +

We are a small company based in Prague, Czech Republic, which deals in energy management, IoT and energy efficiency. One of the aspects of our work is an online energy management platform called Enectiva.

It is a non-trivial application processing around 23K new datapoints an hour from various sources including partner systems, APIs, IoT networks and specialized HW. Enectiva converts this stream into overviews, charts, sends out notifications, generates reports and provides data for further analysis. It is implemented primarily in Ruby on Rails with supporting components in Go.

We’re looking for a new backend developer to help us keep Enectiva growing. Is it you?

What are you going to do

develop new reports to help customers save energy & money
improve our alerting system to detect abnormalities in consumption faster
help give customers more control over how they monitor their properties
optimize ingestion of metering data
integrate APIs of new data sources and new hardware protocols
piece by piece improve a large legacy codebase

The ideal candidate

has experience in web application development
is looking for a long-term cooperation
is looking for a full time position (min 20h/week)
has at least a few hours' overlap with Europe/Prague (we expect a fully remote collaboration)
has experience with technologies we use (Ruby, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Go, Redis, JS, Elm, ...)
is able to work in a distributed team
